Rumor mill: The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch early next year, but a steady stream of leaks has already given us an idea about what to expect. According to a new report, the S25 Ultra could have a significant memory upgrade over its predecessor.
Prolific tipster @UniverseIce claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could offer up to 16GB of RAM. If the tip is accurate, it would mean a significant upgrade over the S24 Ultra, which ships with up to 12GB of memory. While the leaker did not mention the S25 Ultra by name, he has been posting almost exclusively about Samsung recently, suggesting that this particular tip is about the upcoming flagship from the South Korean chaebol.

The rumor is seemingly corroborated by another tipster, @theonecid, who claimed that Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus will have up to 12GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get up to 16GB. Neither post clearly states that it is talking about the top-end models, but that's very likely to be the case, meaning the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus could still have 8GB RAM variants, while the base S25 Ultra will likely get only 12GB of memory.

12GB, 12GB, 16GB ðÂÂÂ
That being said, if CID's post turns out to be accurate, it would mean that the top-end Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra will get an additional 4GB of memory compared to their respective predecessors; however, there's no such upgrade planned for the S25 Plus. That's because the vanilla S24 ships with only up to 8GB of RAM, while the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra offer up to 12GB of memory.
In related news, a report from earlier this year claimed that the Galaxy S25 lineup will ship with LPDDR6 RAM, which would also be an upgrade over the DDR5 memory found in the Galaxy S24-series devices. Another recent post from @UniverseIce claimed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging speed. These specs are identical to what's offered with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, meaning the next-gen Samsung flagship may not offer a battery upgrade that many are hoping for.
It is worth noting here that these are still unverified rumors that are yet to be officially confirmed by Samsung, so take them with a pinch of salt for now.
